Professor Cherith Semple leads the Cancer Care Research Group at Ulster University's Institute of Nursing and Health Research, jointly appointed with South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. Her 25+ year career integrates clinical practice, education, and research focused on family-centered cancer care and head/neck cancer survivorship. She holds a PhD (2016), BSc in Nursing (1995), and HEA Fellowship (2019).
Research Focus: Her work develops evidence-based interventions for psychosocial support in oncology, including eLearning platforms for healthcare professionals addressing parental cancer disclosure, end-of-life family care, and sexual health in cancer care. She directs projects on suicide risk in head/neck cancer patients and lymphoedema self-management.

Leadership & Collaboration: She co-chairs data/research groups, serves on EONS and MASCC committees, and supervises PhD candidates. Her team created clinical frameworks for patient communication and secured grants from NIHR and cancer charities to translate research into practice.
