Cherine Hatem

Dr. Cherine Hatem is an Assistant Professor in Food Science & Nutrition at Sam Houston State University (SHSU), affiliated with the College of Health Sciences. She holds a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Houston (June 2024), specializing in Community and Nutrition Health Promotion Studies, an MS in Human Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University, and a BS in Biochemistry from John Carroll University. Dr. Hatem also serves as a Nutrition Researcher for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).

Her research focuses on community health promotion and nutrition interventions, with expertise bridging public health and food science. Dr. Hatem is involved in undergraduate and graduate programs in Human Sciences at SHSU and contributes to academic initiatives within the College of Health Sciences.
