معرفی
Dr. Chengbo Yao is a Researcher in the Surface and Interfacial Chemistry Professorship at ETH Zurich's Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences. His work focuses on catalytic mechanisms, organometallic chemistry, and surface reactivity, with particular emphasis on designing bimetallic catalysts and exploring hydrogen transfer reactions. Yao’s research integrates advanced spectroscopic techniques (e.g., NMR) to characterize surface sites and catalytic intermediates.
His research interests span diverse areas including: (1) Development of novel catalytic systems for hydrofunctionalizations and C–H activation; (2) Mechanistic studies of cooperative catalysis involving transition metals; (3) Sustainable synthesis of terpenoids and other complex organic architectures from simple precursors; (4) Design of supported nanoparticles for site-selective deuterium labeling in heteroarenes. Recent work highlights include TEMPO adduct formation pathways and interfacial effects in PtCr catalysts for reverse water gas shift reactions.
Yao’s publications (2016–2025) consistently demonstrate expertise in both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, with applications ranging from energy storage materials to cancer metabolism modulation. His work has advanced understanding of hydrogen atom transfer dynamics and bimetallic catalytic synergies.
