Dr. Chengbo Fu is an Associate Professor of Finance at the School of Business, University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Manitoba, an MSc in Management from Clemson University, and a BSc in Finance from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. His research focuses on sustainable finance, asset pricing, and international finance, with particular emphasis on climate change, corporate social responsibility, renewable energy, and political uncertainty. His work has been supported by grants from organizations such as SSHRC, Statistics Canada, and the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions.
Dr. Fu serves as an editor for multiple journals including the Investment Analysts Journal and Emerging Markets Finance and Trade. He actively participates in academic conferences, grant reviews, and editorial committees. He teaches courses in investment, portfolio management, corporate finance, and international finance, and supervises graduate students in the MSc Finance program. His research has been recognized with the University Excellence in Research Award.
Professionally, he contributes to community service as Vice President of the UNBC Childcare Society. His research portfolio reflects a strong interdisciplinary focus on environmental, political, and financial systems interactions, with recent studies addressing climate risk, ESG activities, and energy market dynamics.
