Dr. Cheng-Yao Lin is a Professor of Mathematics Education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he specializes in integrating technology into mathematics education and preparing pre-service teachers. He earned his degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has been recognized with a prestigious Fulbright Specialist Award for his work in Taiwan.
Research Focus: Dr. Lin's research encompasses three primary areas:
- Integration of technology in mathematics education
- Preparation methodologies for pre-service mathematics teachers
- Cross-cultural comparative studies on teachers' conceptual and procedural knowledge of fractions
Editorial Contributions: Dr. Lin currently serves as Department Editor for the NCTM journal Mathematics Teacher: Learning and Teaching PK–12, Associate Editor for the Research Journal of Mathematics and Technology, and holds editorial board positions with Electronic Journal of Mathematics and Technology and the Journal of the Korea Society of Mathematical Education.
