Cheng Ing-haw is a Professor of Finance at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, where he also serves as the Maple Financial Chair in Derivatives and Risk Management and Academic Director of the Master of Financial Risk Management program. He joined Rotman in 2021 after spending 8 years at Dartmouth College (2013-2021) and 4 years at the University of Michigan (2009-2013).
His research focuses on:
- Capital markets (venues for savings/investment channeling)
- Financial system (market infrastructure and securities trading)
- AI/ML applications in finance (emerging research direction)
Professor Cheng earned his PhD and MA in Economics from Princeton University and BS in Mathematics from the University of Chicago. He actively supervises graduate students and leads FinHub: The Financial Innovation Hub.
