Chen Xiaojing

Dr. Chen Xiaojing is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). She leads an independent research group focusing on hippocampal physiology and pathological memory mechanisms. Her work examines spatial learning, episodic memory, and developmental/critical period plasticity in rodent models.

Education: B.Sc. from Shandong University, Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Chinese Academy of Sciences, followed by postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins University under Prof. James Knierim. Current affiliations include lab leadership at SUSTech's Biology Building (Room 328).

Research interests center on: 1) developmental wiring of spatial navigation circuits and environmental influences; 2) pathological changes in memory-related brain regions. Techniques include electrophysiology and behavioral neuroscience approaches.
