Chen Long-Qing

Chen Long-Qing is the Donald W. Hamer Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, USA, since 2015. His career spans over three decades, starting as an Assistant Instructor at Zhejiang University (1982–1983) and progressing through roles including Associate Department Head (2000–2002) and Distinguished Professor (2012–2015). He leads the Chen Group focusing on materials science innovations.

Research interests include computational modeling of phase transitions in advanced materials, strain engineering of multiferroics, additive manufacturing, and energy storage systems. His work bridges theory and application, impacting fields from quantum materials to sustainable energy solutions.

Recipient of over 20 prestigious awards including National Academy of Engineering membership (2025), MRS Theory Award (2014), and multiple fellowships. Active in editorial roles and international collaborations, his research has been recognized globally with high citation indices (Clarivate lists).
