Qing-Long Han is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Quality) and Distinguished Professor at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. He has held prominent roles such as Full Professor (Chair) at Griffith University and Central Queensland University (CQU), and was Founding Director of CQU's Centre for Intelligent and Networked Systems. His research focuses on networked control systems, multi-agent systems, time-delay systems, smart grids, and unmanned surface vehicles.
Key honors include the 2024 IEEE Dr.-Ing. Eugene Mittelmann Achievement Award (highest in Industrial Electronics), 2024 CAA Science and Technology Achievement Award (highest in Automation), and 2021 Norbert Wiener Award (highest in Systems Science and Cybernetics). He is an IEEE Fellow, IFAC Fellow, Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia, and Foreign Member of the Academia Europaea. He has been repeatedly recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher and ranked among the top scientists globally in engineering fields.
He serves as Editor-in-Chief of IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica and holds leadership roles in IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and Asian Control Association. His work bridges theoretical advancements and practical applications in control systems, smart grids, and cyber-physical systems.
