Chen Jijun

Chen Jijun is a Research Assistant Professor at the Shenzhen Grubbs Institute, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), a position he has held since May 2023. Prior to this, he served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department (July 2022-April 2023), a Senior Research Scholar (October 2020-June 2022), and a Postdoc (September 2018-September 2020) at SUSTech.

He received his Ph.D. (2013-2018) and B.S. (2008-2012) from Soochow University. His research focuses on Radical Chemistry and Asymmetric Synthesis, specializing in copper-catalyzed enantioconvergent radical reactions for synthesizing chiral amines and complex organic molecules. These methodologies have significant pharmaceutical applications, particularly in developing efficient routes to bioactive compounds.

His publication record includes high-impact papers in Nature (2023), Journal of the American Chemical Society (2023-2024), and Angewandte Chemie (2021), demonstrating consistent contributions to radical reaction mechanisms and asymmetric catalysis. Recent work emphasizes copper-mediated N-alkylation and carboamination under mild conditions.

He has been recognized as a Shenzhen High-level Talent (Reserve-level), reflecting his standing in Shenzhen's research community. His work is conducted within the Shenzhen Grubbs Institute, a dedicated research unit at SUSTech focused on advancing chemical sciences.
