Dr. Chen-Hao Hsu is a Lecturer and Research Assistant at the University of Bamberg, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration and the Chair of Methods of Social Empirical Research. His work focuses on family demography, labor market instability, and quantitative causal inference in East Asia and Europe.

Research interests include family formation, motherhood penalties, precariou employment, couple wellbeing, and comparative cross-national analysis. His recent publications examine telework-health relationships, fertility policy interactions, and gendered labor dynamics.
Key projects include the ERC-funded SECCOPA project (2021-2023) on temporary employment consequences and the DFG-funded 'Women’s Agency and Fertility in Egypt' project (since 2023). He teaches graduate courses on panel data analysis and multilevel modeling.
