Dr. Chelsea Johnson is a Research Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE) in the School of Public Policy and Government Department. Her work centers on post-conflict governance, power-sharing settlements, and the integration of former rebels into democratic systems.
- PhD in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley (2015)
- Specializes in intra-state conflict resolution and democratization in sub-Saharan Africa
- Conducted extensive fieldwork in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo
Research Focus: Dr. Johnson explores transitional decision-making procedures, vertical/horizontal accountability in post-conflict democracies, and strategic alliances influencing rebel defection from negotiated settlements. Her work bridges institutional design and conflict stabilization.
