Dr. Chelsea Fisher is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of South Carolina, where she researches environmental justice, traditional ecological knowledge, and sustainable food systems. She directs the Yaxunah Haciendas and Lands Archaeological Project (PAHTY) in Yucatán, Mexico, collaborating with Maya community members to study colonial ranching sites and contemporary land relations.

Her interdisciplinary research bridges archaeology, environmental studies, and food systems. Research funding includes grants from Wenner-Gren Foundation, National Science Foundation, and U.S. Department of Education.
