Chelsea A. May is an Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and Director of Clinical Education at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), where she joined in 2019. She holds an M.S. and B.S. from Springfield College. Her roles include shaping USJ’s modular curriculum, advancing Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and fostering active, purpose-driven learning environments. She is deeply committed to clinical education, emphasizing alignment between course content, student tasks, and assessments to build motivated learners.
Professor May’s clinical background spans emergency medicine, addiction medicine, urgent care, and occupational medicine. She currently works in Employee Health Services at Baystate Medical Center and has precepted PA students from local programs. She values teaching as central to her role as a Physician Assistant, prioritizing compassionate care and patient education.
She is affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Massachusetts Association of Physician Assistants, and Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants.
