Chaya Prasad

Dr. Chaya Prasad is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Western University of Health Sciences. She joined the faculty in 2016 after a distinguished career in clinical pathology and academic leadership. Her professional experience includes roles as Chief of Pathology and Lab Medical Director at Kaiser San Jose, and as a clinical educator at Harvard University and Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Prasad holds an M.D. from Bangalore Medical College (1982) and an MBA from Western Governors University (2013).

Her research focuses on Student Wellness, HPV pathobiology, and gynecologic malignancies. Notable contributions include studies on endometrial proliferations and human papillomavirus mechanisms. She has authored over 10 peer-reviewed articles and two book chapters, with key work published in Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Cancer, and Modern Pathology.
