معرفی
Dr. Chavaunne Thorpe is a Lecturer in Basic Sciences at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), specializing in tendinology and biomedical research. Her work focuses on tendon homeostasis, aging, repair, and regeneration, particularly examining progenitor cell populations and the interfascicular matrix using equine and rodent models. She contributes to the Advanced Skeletal Pathobiology module and the locomotor strand teaching at RVC.
- Education:
- BSc (Hons) in Equine Science, University of Bristol (2005),
- PhD in Tendon Matrix Biology, UCL (2010).
Her research spans mechanical biology, matrix adaptation, and age-related tendon pathologies, with funding from organizations like the BBSRC and Arthritis Research UK. She has published extensively on tendon structure-function relationships, including proteomic studies and biomechanical analyses.
Selected scientific awards include the Arthritis Research UK Career Development Fellowship. Her work has advanced understanding of tendon fatigue resistance, inflammation, and regenerative mechanisms.
