M.Sc. Charmaine Utzig is a Research Associate and associated PhD student at the Research Training Group FlexBar (RTG FlexBar) within the Department of Social Psychology at Saarland University, Germany (since 2024). Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (2023-2024) and the Institute of Sports and Sports Sciences, University of Heidelberg (2021-2022), with additional tutoring experience at the same university (2022).
Her research centers on self-control failures and goal pursuit, focusing on how individuals attribute goal-deviant behavior and perceive intention violations as failures. She employs experience sampling methods and multilevel modeling to investigate these dynamics.
Charmaine holds a Master of Science in Psychology (2024) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2022), both from the University of Heidelberg. Since 2024, she has been undergoing training as a Psychological Psychotherapist at the Saarland Institute for Psychotherapy Training (SIAP), Saarbrücken.
