Simon Felix Zerth is a doctoral student and IPAM therapist at the Department of Clinical Psychology (School of Psychology), Philipps University of Marburg. He investigates psychological factors affecting treatment outcomes, focusing on expectations and expectation violations in chronic pain and mechanical ventricular assist device (VAD) contexts.
- Doctoral research (2022–present): Psychologische Psychotherapeuten training at IPAM
- Master’s thesis: Mobile values-based microintervention for chronic back pain
Research Interests: Behavioral medicine, expectation optimization/violation, chronic pain, heart failure, and digital health interventions. His work bridges clinical psychology with psychosomatic research.
Awards: Promotionsstipendium (Philipps University, 2022–present), Deutschlandstipendium (Federal Ministry of Education and Research, 2021–2022).
Teaching: Conducts seminars on psychotherapy approaches (Winter 2024/2025) and applied psychotherapy for chronic pain (Summer 2024) at Philipps University.
