Dr. Charlotte Setijadi is an Assistant Professor of Humanities (Education) at the School of Social Sciences, Singapore Management University (SMU), currently on leave. She coordinates the Global Asia second major programme. Her research focuses on Chinese Indonesian identity politics, Indonesian political culture, and transnational diaspora dynamics. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from La Trobe University (2014) and dual Bachelor's degrees in Communications and Business from Monash University (2005).
Research & Grants: Dr. Setijadi’s work includes a monograph Memories of Unbelonging: Ethnic Chinese Identity Politics in Post-Suharto Indonesia (2023) and ongoing collaborations like the Singapore Social Science Research Council-funded project on Southeast Asia's geopolitical choices. Her research examines Chinese soft power, post-Suharto memory politics, and Indonesian diaspora mobilization.
