Charlotte Meng

Charlotte Meng is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Quantitative Methods at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. She is also a Research Associate at the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence. Her expertise spans applied microeconomics, behavioral economics, and urban economics, with a focus on firm productivity, management practices, and housing market decision-making. Meng holds a PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge and dual undergraduate degrees in Finance and Mathematics from Renmin University of China.

Her research investigates how behavioral biases (e.g., loss aversion, heuristics) influence economic decisions, particularly in housing markets and firm management. She collaborates on projects analyzing business expectations, management quality, and responses to crises like the pandemic through text mining. Meng teaches applied economics courses and has been recognized with awards including the ERES Best Doctoral Paper (2017) and ADBI Special Prize (2016).
