Charlotte Mehlin Sørensen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, specializing in renal hemodynamics and hypertension. Her research focuses on renal autoregulation, vascular topology, gap junctions, ion channels, and the renin-angiotensin system in disease models.

She has a PhD in Health Sciences (2004) and Master/Bachelor degrees in Human Biology and Biology from UCPH. Her career includes postdoc work, assistant professorships, and a year as a drug discovery project leader at Zealand Pharma.
Her research integrates super-resolution ultrasound imaging, GLP-1 receptor signaling, and computational modeling to study renal microcirculation in hypertension and diabetes. Collaborations span DTU, University Hospital Copenhagen, and international institutions.
Grant recipient of NNF, Augustinus Foundation, ERC Synergy, and Innovation Fund Denmark awards. She supervises 14 PhD students (7 main, 7 co) and teaches renal physiology and pharmacology. She co-authored the textbook Basal Nyrefysiologi used at UCPH.
