Dr Charlotte Lee is an Associate Lecturer at the School of Geography and Sustainable Development, University of St Andrews. Her research focuses on activism, resistance, and the intersection of social inequalities with geographical contexts. She is part of the Geographies of Sustainability, Society, Inequalities and Possibilities research group.
Her work examines hidden hierarchies within activist movements and their societal impacts. Key contributions include analyzing how marginalized groups navigate resistance through spatial and social frameworks.
Dr Lee supervises one PhD student, Chau Cong Anh Nguyen. Her 2023 publication explores activist dispositions and resistance dynamics in critical geographies. She is based at the Irvine Building, North Street, St Andrews (KY16 9AL).
Her research integrates critical theory with empirical case studies to understand how spatial practices influence social justice movements.
