Charlie Loewen

Charlie Loewen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, & Organismal Biology at Iowa State University. His research focuses on freshwater community ecology, environmental change, and biodiversity patterns. He earned a B.Sc. in Environmental Biology (2008) and a Ph.D. in Ecology (2017), both from the University of Alberta, Canada. Leading the Loewen Ecology Lab, his work integrates field surveys, experiments, and data synthesis to address global change impacts on aquatic ecosystems.
