Dr. Charlie Hargood is an Associate Professor in Games Technology at Bournemouth University's Department of Creative Technology. His research focuses on narrative systems, hypertext, digital storytelling, and extended reality (XR), with contributions to projects like StoryPlaces and LoGaCulture. He organizes the Narrative and Hypertext Workshop and serves on ACM conference committees. Hargood holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton and has received multiple awards, including the ACM Hypertext Engelbart Prize twice. His work bridges technology and cultural heritage, emphasizing ethical considerations in mixed reality and user experience in educational XR applications.
His research interests include locative storytelling, interactive narrative design, and authoring tools.
