Dr. Charlie Croft is a Lecturer in Management at York Business School, York St John University, where he joined in 2023. His academic career follows a professional background in local government as a chief officer, focusing on civic leadership, community resilience, and innovative service delivery models. He holds an MA by Research from the University of Leeds and a PhD from York St John University.
His research explores tourism strategy, stakeholder engagement in sustainability, and the role of place narratives in human-environment interactions. He teaches on programs such as the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA), BA(Hons) Tourism and Destination Management, and BA(Hons) Management and Leadership Research.
