Charles Zercher

Charles Zercher is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of New Hampshire. He holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame and specializes in synthetic organic chemistry. His work develops zinc carbenoid-mediated reactions for natural product synthesis.

Research creates methodologies for complex molecule assembly, applied to bioactive compounds like brefeldin A and patulolides. Techniques include tandem homologation-acylation and cyclopropanol rearrangements.
