Professor Charles Tyler is a leading environmental biologist and toxicologist at the University of Exeter, holding roles such as Deputy Head of Biosciences and Academic Lead of the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. He co-directs the Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture Futures and leads major research initiatives on endocrine disruptors and nanotoxicology. His work has influenced international policy and earned prestigious awards, including the Beverton Medal and SETAC's highest honor.

- Basic reproductive biology of fish, including sexual differentiation and vitellogenesis.
- Development of transgenic zebrafish models for studying environmental chemical effects.

- Lead investigator on NERC grants totaling over £1M for studies on endocrine disruptors and nanomaterials.
- UK-Japan partnership on endocrine disruption research since 2005.
- Collaborations with CEFAS, DEFRA, and international partners on ecotoxicology and aquaculture.
