Charles R. Sullivan is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Dallas. He holds PhD, M.Phil., and MA degrees from Columbia University, along with a BA from George Mason University. His research focuses on early modern and modern European history, with particular emphasis on political philosophy, intellectual history, and the Scottish Enlightenment.
Dr. Sullivan taught courses including Western Civilization I/II, Modern Europe I/II, and specialized topics like Scottish Enlightenment and Scientific Revolutions. He directed the University's Churchill in England Summer Program (1999–2003) and participated in the Holocaust Education Foundation Summer Institute (2006).
His publications explore themes such as Hegelian philosophy, Winston Churchill's biography, and the intersection of literature and Enlightenment thought. He has contributed to journals like Existensia and French Historical Studies, and authored book reviews for academic societies.
Dr. Sullivan's teaching extends to interdisciplinary programs like the Human Sciences Core Curriculum at the University of Dallas, where he engages students in topics ranging from 21st-century global challenges to the foundations of scientific inquiry.
