Charles P. Nichols is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans. He specializes in social and personality psychology, focusing on mechanisms to advance human well-being through individual goal attainment and sustainable societal systems.
- PhD (2011), MBA (2010), MA (2009), and BA (2001) from University of Missouri, Columbia
His research bridges two domains:
- Individual well-being - examining happiness, satisfaction, and controllable factors like values, goals, and choices
- Collective well-being - analyzing thriving communities, social/environmental sustainability, and intergroup dynamics
Teaching areas include Social Psychology, Personality Theories, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and the first-year seminar Pursuit of Happiness. Recipient of two institutional awards in 2015-2016 for advising excellence and innovative teaching approaches.
