Charles M. C. Lee is the Moghadam Family Professor of Accounting, Emeritus, at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business (GSB). He holds a PhD in Accounting from Cornell University (1990), an MBA (1989), a Chartered Accountant designation (1982), and a Certificate in Biblical Studies (1986). His research focuses on behavioral finance, market microstructure, and quantitative investing, with over 30 years of academic and industry experience.
- Affiliations: Stanford GSB (2008–present), previously Global Head of Equity Research at Barclays Global Investors (2006–2008).
- Leadership Roles: Co-founder of Nipun Capital LP (2011–2017), served on editorial boards of The Accounting Review and Journal of Accounting and Economics.
- Awards: Harry Lyman Hooker Distinguished Professorship (2021), Roger F. Murray Prize (2018).
His research bridges academic theory and practical finance, addressing topics such as IPO restrictions in China and capital adequacy measures for banks. He has taught courses like Alphanomics: Informational Arbitrage in Equity Markets to MBA and PhD students.
