Charles M. Boggs

Charles M. Boggs is an Associate Chair and Professor of Interior Design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), with concurrent part-time faculty roles at the University of Miami. He holds an M.A. in Interior Design from Florida International University and a B.Arch from the University of Cincinnati. His academic career spans over a decade, focusing on curriculum development, studio teaching methodologies, and industry collaboration through SCADpro partnerships with firms like Deloitte, Uber, and ICFF.

His design practice expertise lies in high-end hospitality and cruise ship interior design, having served as Associate Vice President at Royal Caribbean Group and consultant for projects like the Edge-class Celebrity ships and Seabourn Legend revitalization. He is NCIDQ certified and actively involved in organizations like ASID, IIDA, and USGBC.

Boggs’ research emphasizes sustainable design, wellness in built environments, and design education innovation. He has presented at conferences including IDEC and Design Research Society, addressing topics like healthy indoor environments and aging-in-place design frameworks. His awards include the SCAD Presidential Fellowship and Teaching Excellence Award.
