Charles Lagreco is the AIA Macdonald and Diane Rusling Becket Professor of Community Design and Associate Professor at the USC School of Architecture, with a co-appointment in the Rossier School of Education. He has been a tenured faculty member since 1980, previously serving as Associate Dean of the School of Architecture (1997–2007). His expertise spans design methodology, professional practice, and urban development, with a focus on community-based projects and educational facilities. He founded Architectural Collective and has won national design awards, including for the Sunset Boulevard multi-use building.

Research & Practice: Professor Lagreco’s work emphasizes new urban educational prototypes, community-driven urban development, and design/build education. He led the USC/Hybrid High School initiative and co-chaired the Getty Museum’s ‘Lesson’s Learned – Schools Symposium.’ A new endowment supports his design/build curricular program, integrating research and hands-on implementation in Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Awards: Progressive Architecture Design Award (for Sunset Boulevard project) and other local/state/national recognitions.
Teaching & Grants: Teaches ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN III and PROFESSIONAL PRACTICUM. His grants include the endowment for design/build initiatives and collaborations with the Rossier School of Education.
Professional Practice: Principal of Architectural Collective; former lead designer at CRS (now HOK).
