Charles Davis is a retired Professor in the Department of Environmental Affairs and Political Science at Colorado State University (College of Liberal Arts). His academic focus centers on U.S. Environmental Politics, Public Policy, and energy-related governance issues. He holds a PhD from the University of Houston.
Research interests include energy and public lands policymaking, with particular attention to fracking policy, renewable energy strategies, and substate federalism dynamics. His work explores how policy tools affect oil and gas operations, regulatory authority conflicts between state and local governments, and public attitudes toward energy development.
Teaching specialties include U.S. Environmental Politics and Policy, Theories of the Policy Process, and Environmental Policy Administration. His publications analyze administrative presidency impacts on environmental decisions, regional renewable energy frameworks, and socio-legal conflicts over resource extraction.
