Alex Osei-Kojo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs (2021) from the University of Colorado Denver, with research focused on environmental and energy policy in sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, he served as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Ghana’s Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management, where he supervised six capstone essays and taught public policy courses.
His research interests include policy process theories (e.g., Advocacy Coalition Framework), political economy, and governance challenges in Africa. He has published in journals such as Environment, Development and Sustainability, Public Organization Review, and Journal of Public Affairs. His work examines advocacy coalitions, policy narratives, and institutional dynamics in contexts like Ghana’s oil and gas governance and small-scale mining regulations.
Notable collaborations include co-authored works on Ghana’s contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the political economy of extractives industries. Osei-Kojo has also engaged in global development dialogues, including discussions on climate action and energy access in Africa. His teaching focuses on public policy, administration, and research methods.
