Dr. Charla Bagwell serves as an Assistant Professor of Nursing within the College of Nursing & Health Professions at Arkansas State University, joining the full-time faculty in fall 2023. She teaches in the graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program with responsibilities including Professional Role Development, Women's Health, and Healthcare Issues and Policy courses.
Her educational credentials comprise an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from North Arkansas College (2012), followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner specialization (MSN-FNP) from Arkansas State University (2018 and 2020 respectively). She maintains certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC).
Research priorities center on Women's Health, Pediatrics, and determinants of student retention/success in nursing education. Clinical expertise derives from direct patient care roles in labor/delivery nursing, urgent care, urology, and women's health specialties prior to her academic appointment.
Professional affiliations include membership in the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF).
