Charbel Afif is Professor and Chair of the Chemistry Department at Saint Joseph University in Lebanon, concurrently serving as Adjunct Professor at the Cyprus Institute. He leads the EMMA research group focusing on atmospheric emissions and air quality impacts. Obtained MSc and PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry from Paris 12 University.
Research specialties include:

- Source apportionment methodologies
- Impact assessment of atmospheric pollutants
Fieldwork encompasses international campaigns in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East region. Contributes to regional climate policy through data-driven analysis of pollution sources and mitigation strategies.
