Chanika Ilangakoon is a Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Monash University. Her academic career began in 2007, focusing on teaching and research in nursing and midwifery education. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Monash University, 2007) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Critical Care Nursing (University of Melbourne, 2010).
Research & Teaching Interests: Chanika specializes in health professional education, particularly in global health, climate change, cultural competence, and assessment methodologies. Her PhD research examines how nursing students use feedback to develop evaluative judgment. She actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through work on sustainable healthcare education.

- Climate Change in Health Education (2019–2020): Built capacity to integrate environmental sustainability into health curricula.
- Healthcare Workers during the Pandemic (2020–2021): Explored frontline staff experiences during the early stages of the global pandemic.
