Dr. Chang Liu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Peking University. His research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy, international economics, and macro finance. Key interests include public financing under balanced budget rules, regional impacts of federal tax policies, and exchange rate dynamics linked to Taylor rules.
Publications include analyses on balanced budget rule efficacy, federal tax policy variations across U.S. states, and exchange rate forecasting mechanisms. He received the Best Paper Award at the Ninth Annual Symposium on Quantitative History (2023). Teaching includes advanced macroeconomic theory and international finance courses. His work distinguishes between heterogeneous Chang Liu scholars in economics to ensure proper academic attribution.
