Chanee Fabius, PhD, MA, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her research focuses on aging and disability policies, particularly addressing health disparities for older adults, caregivers, and the direct care workforce through long-term services and supports (LTSS). She is affiliated with the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions and the Lipitz Center for Aging and Health. Dr. Fabius holds a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut (2016) and an MA from the University of St. Joseph (2011). Her work emphasizes racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare access, Medicare-Medicaid dual enrollment, and community-based LTSS.
Key research interests include caregiving networks, dementia care, and the role of place in LTSS delivery. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work examining racial differences in caregiver experiences, digital health equity frameworks, and policy interventions to reduce disparities in aging populations. Dr. Fabius has received prestigious awards such as the National Minority Quality Forum’s 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health Award (2025) and multiple fellowships from institutions like Harvard and Indiana University.
Her projects include improving information sharing between family caregivers and home care aides for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (NIA K01 grant-funded) and analyzing the impact of Medicaid managed care on LTSS utilization. She collaborates with organizations like the Brown School of Public Health and Harvard to advance interdisciplinary aging research. Her work bridges applied clinical experience with policy analysis to ensure equitable aging outcomes for vulnerable populations.
