Chaiti Seth is a Lecturer in the Environmental & Sustainability Studies (ESST) Department at Acadia University. She specializes in sustainable food systems, experiential learning, and healing practices for social and environmental equity. Her work bridges academic teaching with community-based initiatives in Mi’kma’ki (present-day Canada) and India.
Education:
- MCD in Community Development from Acadia University
- B.Sc. in Geography & Environment from the London School of Economics and Political Science
Research Focus: Chaiti’s work emphasizes land-based learning, resilient food systems, and transformative education for systemic change. She collaborates with Indigenous communities and NGOs like Maati Women’s Collective and Himal Prakriti Nature Trust to promote ecological conservation and community-building in the Himalayas.
Community & Scholarly Engagement:
- Co-authored a chapter in the Routledge International Handbook for Creative Futures (2024)
- Facilitates workshops on equity education through Maple League and Atlantic Universities
- Board member of Ross Creek Centre for the Arts and Two Planks and A Passion Theatre
Labs/Teams: Active with the Food Learning Collective and serves as visiting faculty at the Centre for Learning, Bengaluru, India.
