معرفی
Chaitanya Deo is a Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science, and Computational Mechanics, with an emphasis on radiation effects in structural materials and nuclear fuels.
- Ph.D. from University of Michigan (2003)
- M.S. from University of Michigan (2000)
- B.E. from University of Pune, India (1997)
Dr. Deo's work employs statistical mechanics and solid mechanics to study structure-property relationships in nuclear materials. His recent publications highlight atomic-level simulations of defects, radiation-induced phase transformations, and multiscale modeling of nuclear fuel matrices.
His funded projects include studies on uranium-based fuel matrices, radiation damage simulations, and high-temperature deformation mechanisms. He has received awards such as the NRC Faculty Development Grant and LLNL Summer School Fellowship.
- National Regulation Commission Faculty Development Grant (2008-2011)
- Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Summer School Fellowship (2001)
- University of Michigan College of Engineering Graduate Fellowship (1997-1998)
He collaborates with national laboratories like Los Alamos and Sandia, offering graduate students opportunities for research in nuclear materials and computational simulations.
