Chad Broughton is an Instructional Professor in the Social Sciences Collegiate Division and Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago. He holds affiliations with the Harris School, Department of Sociology, and Center for Latin American Studies. His research focuses on labor studies, immigration policy, crime, and policing in urban contexts, with a Chicago-centric lens. He authored the award-winning book Boom, Bust, Exodus (2015), analyzing the socioeconomic impacts of industrial decline and transnational migration.
