Dr. Chad Bennett is a Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Academic Engagement and Exploratory Studies (AEES) at Shippensburg University. With over 19 years of experience in academic and student support, he focuses on developmental education, student leadership, and program management. As chair, he has secured over $1 million in grant funding and created initiatives like the program’s lending library and the 'ASP Super Star' Award during the Summer Bridge Program.
- Education: Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Psychology from Shippensburg University, Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Duquesne University (2009)
- Prior Roles: Director of a youth shelter in Harrisburg, PA; taught at Harrisburg Area Community College; played/coached professional soccer in USL and Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association
Dr. Bennett’s research interests center on enhancing student success through developmental education, first-year programming, and academic advising. His work emphasizes creating inclusive programs that foster leadership and community engagement, as evidenced by his publications in the Educational Leadership Development Conference monograph at St. Peter's College, University of Oxford.
