Cengis ASİLTÜRK is an Associate Professor at Beykent University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. He holds a Doctorate degree and has been affiliated with Beykent University since 2006, serving as Doctor Lecturer before becoming Associate Professor in 2021. Earlier, he was a Research Assistant at Ankara University's Faculty of Educational Sciences where he completed his Master's in Fine Arts Education.
His research focuses on film production, screenwriting, and cinematic storytelling, with expertise spanning feature film direction, festival curation, and narrative development. His artistic work explores themes of cultural identity and human experiences through visual media.
Significant awards include:
- New York Film Festival Award for feature film The Scream of Butterflies (2024)
- Goldenhorn International Film Festival Director Award (2024)
- Best Novelist honors from Orontes Art Institution (2019)
- Young Novelist Award for In the Shadow of Glazed Time (2007)
He actively participates in international film festivals as director/screenwriter, with works screened in Germany, Turkey, and the US since 1996.
