Celso Alves Neto is a philosopher of science and race affiliated with the University of Exeter's Social and Political Sciences, Philosophy, and Anthropology department and the Centre for the Study of the Life Sciences (Egenis). He leads the ERC-funded project Human Genomics without Racism (HUGERA) (2025-2029), which develops ethical frameworks for genomics research. His work focuses on biological/social classifications, race theory, and the intersection of values/science.

- Postdoctoral Fellow, Dalhousie University (Canada)
Research Interests: Examines racial classifications, metaphysics of race/gender, social dimensions of racism, and classificatory concepts in biology (species, genes, etc.). Active in analyzing ethical risks in human genetic variation research through interdisciplinary collaboration with geneticists and computer biologists. Advocates for frameworks that balance scientific advancement with ethical responsibility.
