Dr. Celine Germond-Duret is a Lecturer in Environmental Politics and Policy at the School of Global Affairs, Lancaster University. Her research spans the Blue Economy, international climate politics, and postcolonial discourse analysis, with a focus on decolonizing marine knowledge and addressing global inequalities.
- Current Projects: PI for 'Ocean Justice and the Blue Economy' (2024–2027) and 'SeaSights' (2023–2024).
- External Roles: Member of the Office for Environmental Protection College of Experts, Motion for the Ocean steering group, and Scientific Steering Committee at AstraZeneca.
Her interdisciplinary work combines international relations, human geography, and discourse analysis to critique colonial underpinnings in environmental policies. She employs mixed methods, including PhotoVoice for community engagement in marine research.
Recent publications analyze ocean justice, decolonized marine narratives, and systems-informed climate decisions. She co-edited a 2023 Routledge volume on the Blue Economy and contributed to the International Encyclopedia of Geography.
