Celine Bray

Mrs. Celine Bray is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the University of the West of England (UWE) within the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL). With a background as a qualified Chartered Accountant and six years of professional practice experience in financial accounting, tax, and insolvency, she bridges academic theory with real-world applications. Her role includes leading employability initiatives and collaborating with external employers such as PwC, RSM, and Pearson to align the curriculum with industry needs.

Bray specializes in graduate employability, financial accounting, and governance, embedding experiential learning practices like mock assessment centers and interviews into her teaching. She serves as a Work Integrated Learning module leader and contributes to the development of technical qualifications as part of the Pearson Higher Education (HE) consultation panel.

Bray’s accolades include being recognized as a CGMA Academic Champion and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She holds the Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) qualification and participates in the Aurora Advance HE leadership programme.

Her teaching spans foundational to advanced undergraduate modules, including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Governance and Accountability, and Principles of Taxation. She emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills, fostering student readiness for the accounting and finance sectors.
