Celina A Suarez

Celina A. Suarez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arkansas. Her research focuses on deep-time paleoclimate, geochemistry, paleontology, and sedimentology/stratigraphy.

Research Interests: Dr. Suarez specializes in using geochemical analyses of sedimentary rocks and fossils to reconstruct paleoclimates and paleoecologies, particularly in Cretaceous terrestrial ecosystems. Her work addresses paleohydrology, taphonomy, and greenhouse climate dynamics through fieldwork in Utah, China, and Alaska.

Teaching: Courses include Earth System History, Low Temperature Geochemistry, Field Methods, and Paleontology. She also serves as Graduate Coordinator for the MS in Geology.

Publications Trends: Her work integrates stable isotope analysis, rare earth element geochemistry, and multi-taxa studies to explore Cretaceous climate shifts, dinosaur physiology, and Arctic hydrology.
