His 37 peer-reviewed publications highlight trends in medicinal fungi, oxidative stress, and elemental analysis, often in collaboration with researchers like Sevindik Mustafa and Akgul Hasan. He has contributed chapters to international books on myxomycetes and fungal ecology.
Dr. Bal teaches courses in occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and chemistry, with a focus on vocational training. His two national research projects (2017–2018) explored antioxidant properties of mushrooms and lichen species.
