Cedric John

Professor Cedric John heads Data Science for Environment and Sustainability at Queen Mary University's Digital Environment Research Institute. His research blends AI/ML with geoscience for environmental applications, including satellite monitoring of coral reefs and automated geological image analysis.

Research combines:

• Clumped isotope paleothermometry
• Forward stratigraphic modeling
• Satellite-based environmental monitoring
• Carbonate diagenesis studies

Leads projects applying computer vision to carbonate rock classification and satellite-based ecosystem health assessment. Formerly Reader in Earth-Centric AI at Imperial College London.
